Japan Photo Journal: East Japan garden glows for autumn

Autumn leaves at their colorful best were lit up on a trial basis at the Japanese garden Tokumeien at Kannonyama Hill in the city of Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, on Nov. 9, 2020. The garden is accompanied by the Dokutsu Kannon, an artificial cave in which 39 kannon stone statues are arranged in an area covering about 400 meters. The foliage will be lit up on weekend evenings and national holidays from Nov. 14 to 29.
