Japan's new coronavirus cases top 2,500, record high for 4th day in row

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japan confirmed Saturday more than 2,500 new daily cases of the novel coronavirus, marking a record high for the fourth day in a row.

    The tally compiled by Kyodo News based on data released by local authorities followed 2,427 cases on Friday as Tokyo, Osaka and other cities continued to see high numbers of infections.
