(Mainichi Japan)
TOKYO (Kyodo) -- J-League side Yokohama F Marinos drew 1-1 with Australia's Sydney FC in their final Asian Champions League Group H game on Friday.
Yuki Saneto scored in the 18th minute on the second of two successive corner kicks as Marinos bombarded the Sydney goal, but the Japanese side were unable to score again and slack defending opened the door for Trent Buhagiar to score on a 29th minute counter.
Marinos, who entered the game at Qatar's Al Janoub Stadium having already wrapped up a spot in the round of 16, finished top of the group with 13 points from six games, while Sydney finished last with five points. Shanghai SIPG came in second and advanced with nine points after their 2-0 loss to South Korea's Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC.
