TOKYO -- All 25,000 vaccination slots arranged for older people at a large-scale inoculation center in Osaka for the period between May 24 and 30 were reserved within around 25 minutes of being made available from about 1 p.m. on May 17.
The large-scale coronavirus vaccinations are being administered by the Ministry of Defense. Only those aged 65 and over living in Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo prefectures are eligible for vaccination at the Osaka site. The timing of the start of reservations is determined by place of residence, and this first round was only open to people living in the city of Osaka.
