TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japan's Risako Kawai captured the gold medal Thursday by beating Belarus' Iryna Kurachkina 5-0 in the women's 57-kilogram final at the Tokyo Olympics.

Kawai, freestyle champion at 63 kg at the 2016 Rio Games, became the third Japanese female wrestler to win back-to-back Olympic titles, following Saori Yoshida and Kaori Icho. On Wednesday, Kawai's younger sister, Yukako, won the women's 62-kg title, making them the first Japanese sisters to have both won Olympic gold medals.
