Minor opposition party leader Taro Yamamoto to win lower house seat for 1st time

Taro Yamamoto, leader of minor opposition party Reiwa Shinsengumi, is assured of winning a seat in the Oct. 31 House of Representatives election.

    Yamamoto, 46, was running for the Tokyo proportional representation bloc.

    It is the first time for Yamamoto, a former House of Councillors member, to be elected to the lower house.
