Japan to ban new foreign arrivals from across globe from Tues.

TOKYO -- Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Nov. 29 announced that Japan would ban the entry of all foreigners in principle in response to the spread of the new omicron variant of the coronavirus.
Speaking to reporters at his office, Kishida said the measure would come into effect from 12 a.m. on Nov. 30 and remain in place indefinitely.
