Commemorative 'Ultraman' tickets for Kyoto tram to go on sale
(Mainichi Japan)
KYOTO -- A railway company in this west Japan city is poised to sell 1,000 limited "Randen" tram line commemorative ticket sets featuring the hero and monsters from the popular "Ultraman" TV series on April 23.
In addition to the superhero Ultraman, the set features four other monsters and aliens: Pigmon, Alien Baltan, Dada, and Zetton. The tickets are in the shape of the characters -- apparently a rare feature for such sets.
Kyoto-based Keifuku Electric Railroad Co. prepared the ticket sets ahead of the May 13 release of the movie "Shin Ultraman." Each character can be detached from its paper mount and used as a 220-yen adult ticket until the end of September on the Randen Arashiyama and Kitano lines. The used tickets will be collected by the railroad company.
The price is 2,000 yen (about $15) for one set of five tickets. The sets will be sold at Shijo-Omiya, Arashiyama, Katabiranotsuji, and Kitano-Hakubaicho stations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For inquiries, contact Keifuku Electric Railroad's public relations department on 075-801-5315 (in Japanese).
