Numerous carnations are seen at horticulture company Asami Green Plants in the city of Konosu, Saitama Prefecture, on May 1, 2022. Shipments of the flowers in hues of pink, red and other colors are in full swing ahead of Mother's Day on May 8. The company is shipping four varieties of carnations -- including the "strawberry soft" variety which turns from pink to white, and the red "thankfulness" variety across the country. President Takuya Asami, 46, commented, "For the first time in three years, there are no movement restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, so we hope people will give carnations to their mothers in person."
