Tokyo registers 5,302 new coronavirus infections on July 5

TOKYO -- Japan's capital reported 5,302 more COVID-19 cases on July 5 after recording 2,772 the previous day, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced.

    Three COVID-19 deaths were reported on July 5, and total coronavirus fatalities in Tokyo stand at 4,583.

    The capital recorded an average of 2159.7 COVID-19 cases per day in the fourth week of June, after registering 1,904.1 in the first week, 1,567.3 in the second, and 1,681.7 in the third.

    Tokyo has registered 1,617,855 coronavirus infections to date.
