Kazuki Takahashi, creator of popular 'Yu-Gi-Oh!' manga, dead at 60


Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of the popular "Yu-Gi-Oh!" manga and trading card game, has died at the age of 60.

    The Japan Coast Guard announced his death on July 7, after his body was found floating in the sea off the city of Nago, Okinawa Prefecture, the day before.

    According to the Nago Coast Guard Station, a marine leisure business employee made an emergency call at around 10:30 a.m. on July 6 to report that "something that looks like a dead body" was floating about 300 meters offshore. Paramedics raced to the scene and pulled Takahashi out of the water. He had been floating face down, and had on a snorkel, diving mask and flippers. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

    Takahashi's legal first name was Kazuo.
