Tokyo records 8,529 more COVID infections on July 7

TOKYO -- The Japanese capital reported 8,529 coronavirus cases on July 7 after recording 8,341 the day before, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced.

    No COVID-19 deaths were reported on July 7, and total coronavirus fatalities in Tokyo stand at 4,585.

    The capital saw a daily average of 5,127.7 coronavirus infections in the first week of July. It recorded 58,614 total COVID cases in June, for an average of 1,953.8 per day.

    Tokyo has registered 1,634,725 coronavirus infections to date.
