VAL SAINT-COME, Canada (Kyodo) -- Japan's 18-year-old Anri Kawamura won her third straight freestyle skiing moguls World Cup event Saturday, securing her sixth career title.

Kawamura defeated Perrine Laffont of France in the women's final of the dual moguls, a discipline that will make its Olympic debut in 2026 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

"I wanted to win it back-to-back," Kawamura, who won in moguls on Friday, said. "My desire to win was especially strong (before the final) so I'm really happy."

"I could concentrate on my skiing and it was really good."

Japanese compatriot Rino Yanagimoto finished sixth for the second straight day.

Beijing Olympic moguls champion Walter Wallberg of Sweden won the men's title in the seventh event of the season.
