In Photos: Okinawa Pref. Archives release WWII images taken on Saipan, Tinian by US forces

Men believed to be Japanese soldiers who surrendered to the U.S. military are pictured in this photo taken by the U.S. military on the island of Tinian in July 1944. The U.S. military's caption explained that a loudspeaker had been used to call on them to come out of their caves on the hill.
