音声を聞いてみよう

 東京在住の日米夫婦・健一とレイチェルが主人公。「これ英語で何て言うのかな?」を考えます。

Rachel: (On her phone) Well, if you're OK with that, I'll support you. OK, then. Call me whenever you want. I miss you, too. Take care. (Hangs up)

Kenichi: That was Lisa, your friend from back home, right?

Rachel: Yeah. Remember how I told you that she was having marital problems?

Kenichi: Yes. You were worried they were going to have a "coronavirus divorce."

Rachel: Well, Lisa is now saying that they're going to wipe the slate clean and cooperate to save their marriage.

Kenichi: I thought you said to me before that their marriage seemed beyond repair.

Rachel: That's what I thought, too! She'd said that having spent all this time together in their tiny apartment under quarantine, she'd discovered that she and her husband couldn't stand each other.

Kenichi: How is that going to change now?

Rachel: They started couple's therapy online. And she said their therapist helped them realize it wasn't that they didn't love each other; it was not having any alone time that was making them go crazy. He helped them think of strategies to cope. And apparently now they give themselves two hours a day to be out of each other's sight.
