I thought of it as a precious place in cultural terms. Guests were able to very quickly become friends with others they met here, and their bonds after becoming friends were so much stronger than those made through encounters in their everyday lives. I guess that's because when you meet someone while traveling, it becomes easier to show them your true self, even if it's the first time you've met them, strangely enough. In dormitories, there are many travelers, so you can go out for meals with others you meet there and go with them to famous sightseeing spots and so on. That would never happen with a stranger you met on the street the day before, would it?
