Photo Journal: Spring in the air

Blossoming Japanese apricot trees are seen from a Mainichi Shimbun helicopter at Kairakuen garden, which generally is regarded as one of the three most outstanding gardens in Japan, in the city of Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, on March 13, 2018. Some 3,000 trees in around 100 varieties are approaching full bloom, with the aroma of the blossoms conveying the arrival of spring. According to Kairakuen Park Center, the buds started to burst at around the beginning of March, when temperatures rose, dyeing the garden red, white and pink. (Mainichi)
